Players will be expected in their hundreds for Irish bookmaker Paddy PowerÂ’s first poker tournament to be held in England in November.

The Madchester Poker Open will take place at Manchester235 Casino from 21-23 November, where players can enter for a £500 buy-in plus £50 registration.

There is a guaranteed prize pool at the main event of £100,000, and events will be held across 235 Live, Vega Lounge and The Poker Lounge.

Various satellite tournaments will be held before the start of the tournament, with some being played on Paddy PowerÂ’s official website and four additional events at the Manchester235, beginning in late October.

Two feeder events will be held, the first of which being a Texas No-Limit HoldÂ’ Em Rebuy on Wednesday 19 November, with a guarantee of five seats at the main event, before another tournament with the same guidelines plus one add on the following day.

”We looked at a lot of venues in and around the region and Manchester235 stood out head and shoulders above its competitors as the ideal host for the Madchester Open,” Patrick Thornton, head of Paddy Power Poker said.

”Paddy Power has a strong customer base in the North West and we felt the time was right to have an offline event in England. With a £500 buy-in, who’s mad enough to call our bluff?”
